My Alpha-Gal Safe Makeup Routine

Hey Alpha-Gal friends! Today I have a question for you: What’s in your makeup bag?

Because if your makeup bag isn’t full of vegan makeup options, it’s time to change that. I still have fun putting on makeup in the mornings and making myself look beautiful for the day.

I can’t guarantee that the makeup products listed in the post are 100% Alpha-Gal safe, but they are all vegan and safe for me. So grab your make-up bag and let’s get started!

Clearing the Stage

First things first; I have to wash the oil and grime of the night away.  My current go to is the Pacifica Glow Baby brightening face wash and its accompanying Vitaglow face lotion. These products are 100% vegan according to the package, so they are Alpha-Gal safe.

If I’m staying home all day, I may just wash my face with the Everyone 3 in 1 lemon coconut soap and moisturize with its coordinating nourishing lotion in the same coconut lemon scent. These are vegan as well.

Laying the Foundation

After I clear the stage (so to speak), I want to apply something to smooth away the lines and blemishes on this 50-something face of mine.

In the past, I have worn a full face vegan foundation like Wet n Wild’s Photo Focus Dewy foundation.  Currently, I’m trying to go a little more minimalistic. Plus, I’ve gotten hooked on Pinterest make-up videos!

Most days I just use a trifecta of 3 different Alpha-Gal safe vegan concealer and highlighting products.  I use the Wet n Wild Incognito all-day coverage concealer to hit the darkest spots and highlight other areas. Next, I use Maybelline’s Instant Age Rewind eraser to add color here and there.

To smooth the makeup, I use a nice vegan foundation brush from ELF.  Once all the base is blended, I go back with my dual-ended contour stick by Wet n Wild. I use this for adding color and contour, and also blend with my ELF brush.

To set the foundation, I use ELF Halo Glow setting powder, which leaves a light and airy finish.

Easy on the Eyes

I keep my eye makeup on the neutral side. That’s just my personal preference.

Beauty Counter make-up is expensive, but it’s Alpha-Gal safe and vegan. So when I started cleaning out the mammal byproducts from my life, I went with Beauty Counter. I continue to reap the benefits of that initial investment, especially when it comes to eye shadow. I use my Beauty Counter almost every day. The 9 color palette allows me to color, contour, and line my eyes—all with a great Alpha-Gal safe makeup product.

To finish off my eyes, I have found another wonderful product from Pacifica. It’s actually a pair of products: Pacifica vegan collagen lash serum & primer. This is white, and helps to thicken the look of your lashes. I follow up with the Pacifica vegan collagen fluffy lash mascara. Together, your lashes are sure to pop! I even recommend these products to folks without an Alpha-Gal diagnosis.

Luscious Lips

Well, I wish I had luscious lips, but I am learning to bring them color and shine with a couple of my trusted vegan lip products. My current favorite is Covergirl Outlast UltiMatte liquid lipstick. It does boast a vegan formula, so that's a win for all of us prissy Alpha “gals.”

I also continue to use my original Beauty Counter lipstick. On days I don’t want color, I just use EOS lip balm.
